SCREEN MAKERS CONFERENCE HAS LIMITED PLACES LEFT

With the range of technology available, making digital content has never been easier, but how can you create a sustainable career in screen?

This month, Media Resource Centre will present a two day conference, bringing together some of the country’s most successful practitioners to talk about their experiences, pathways, and how to monetise screen content.

unnamed (10)Following the MRC’s successful series of focus groups on assisting the next generation of content makers, the New Screen Makers conference is set to provide even more support and information to participants.

Guest presenters are experts in new content platforms, and will provide tips and skills in making audience-focused content.

Georgina Powell of YouTube, Marshall Heald of SBS and Rebecca Heap of ABC’s iview will offer insight into what their platforms are looking for and what their audiences want.

Also presenting are Tamasin Simpkin – the producer of the highly successful online web series The Katering Show and Julie Kalceff the writer, director and producer of the smash-hit web series Starting From … Now!

Distributers from Indie Village and Titan View will also lift the lid on what they are after in the market.

Opening the conference is the keynote given by AACTA and International Emmy® award-winning producer Marcus Gillezeau (Firelight Productions) who will discuss the industry trends and opportunities for filmmakers in the current convergent media landscape.

MRC members can attend the two-day conference for as little as $25 and non-members rates are very competitive.
