Only months after completing their fourth Australian visit, New York’s musical deconstructionists, Postmodern Jukebox, have announced they will be back to tour Australia and New Zealand once again in September and October 2019, playing a total of 24 shows across the two countries – including one show scheduled for the Adelaide Entertainment Centre on September 21st.
PMJ founder, Scott Bradlee, has promised that the Welcome To The Twenties 2.0 tour will be ‘the most sensational ‘20s party this side of The Great Gatsby’ and is hoping that the Twenty-Twenties will see ‘a return to the style and craftsmanship that typified the music of past generations.’
Adelaide fans turned out in droves to experience this year’s PMJ show decked out in full twenties’ flapper gear, and took no time to get into the funky, jazzy groove that the collective so successfully mine when they rearrange contemporary classics to fit stylistically into their shows.
‘When creating a touring version of the Postmodern Jukebox concept, we work on pairing the right talent with the right material and building a unique and amazing experience for Postmodern Jukebox fans,’ Bradlee says. If this year’s talent is anything to go by then this is no idle boast – there were certainly some amazing high-points!
If you have not seen Postmodern Jukebox then make sure you do when they arrive here next September. You will not be disappointed!
