Live music, recording, producing and events, Upside Sound is the creator of award-winning, original music and cabaret, hosting a rehearsal room and recording facilities, all in the heart of the Adelaide CBD.

Established by Matt Trainor, originally at Vault 134, Upside Sound is on the move and expanding as part of new Pirie St location, Prompt Creative Centre, starting from August. Here, the rehearsal studio will be a home for Adelaide musicians to craft their work in the heart of the CBD, complementing the venue’s live music program when it launches in the coming months.

Earlier this year, Upside Sound made the transition from rehearsal facility to recording studio, with this capacity to be expanded further as part of the move to the new site.

The vision is for a space that lies somewhere between home recording and a fully decked out professional studio – to make the recording process as accessible as possible for emerging local musicians. Artists can book time to record and produce themselves or engage an engineer to work with them.
