St Jerome’s Laneway Festival returns to Adelaide this Saturday, 14 February. From must-see acts to our top tips, here’s everything you need to know:
1. The new venue
Laneway has moved from Bonython Park to the Adelaide Showground in Wayville, following in the footsteps of previous festivals like Heaps Good and Spinoff. Although the parklands will be missed, the spacious facilities for Laneway’s three stages, along with a range of food and market stalls, shaded areas, and exclusive merch stands, will be a welcome change. The Showground is easy to access, being a short drive from the city and a five-minute walk from the tram.
2. The lineup
This Valentine’s Day, Adelaide is set to fall in love with the Midwest Princess herself, international headliner and Laneway exclusive Chappell Roan. Joining her are electro-pop artist PinkPantheress, English rock band Wolf Alice, indie band Wet Leg, boygenius’s Lucy Dacus, and Aussie favourites Teen Jesus and the Jean Teasers, among others. We are also eagerly anticipating which Aussie icon will take on the role of “Sally”, a surprise stage guest during American singer Role Model’s track “Sally, When the Wine Runs Out”.
3. The weather
Saturday is set to be sunny, with a top of 31 degrees, an ideal Adelaide welcome to Laneway. Remember to apply sunscreen and stay hydrated, whether that’s grabbing a drink from one of the festival’s many stalls or making use of the hydration stations around the Showground. Laneway also permits attendees to bring an empty, soft plastic water bottle to refill inside the festival.
4. What to bring
Our Laneway essentials include a bag no larger than A4 size, a battery pack, sunglasses, a hair tie, any makeup (not in metal or glass containers), a hat, sunscreen, and a cashless way to pay. Don’t forget a valid photo ID to enter the festival.
Laneway gates open from 1pm this Saturday, with entry to the Showground via Rose Terrace. Limited tickets and further information are available here.
We’re looking forward to what’s shaping up to be another wonderful Laneway Festival!
