Adelaide Fringe Review, Grossed Out Game Show, GOUD, 2026

Got a restless kid or a few who need to let off some steam this Fringe season? Or perhaps you’re young at heart and enjoy a good pool noodle fight. Well, Grossed Out Game Show has you covered.

Held in the Umbrella Revolution tent in The Garden of Unearthly Delights and hosted by the loud and wacky children’s comedian Matty Grey, the audience is divided into two teams, blue and yellow, for a competition game show that has all the thrills, spills and slime of a Nickelodeon special.

Youngsters and parents/guardians alike participate in seven challenges that involve filling someone’s pants with poo (emoji cushions), stuffing fat suits with balloons, dancing your feet as maniacally as possible and many more zany activities.

Two team captains from a rotating cast of fellow Fringe show artists and local celebrities (in our case the hilarious Burton Brothers) led the charge with the losing team captain entering the inevitable slime booth for a gooey, scream-filled finale.

The structured gameplay keeps the wheels of the show in motion and Grey and his two assistants wrangle the chaos with ease.

There’s a lot of interactivity for the kids who want to get amongst the action, and headphones provided for the sensory sensitive kids who prefer to sit back and observe the madness unfold. Either way, there is boundless amounts of fun to be had for every participant (apart from the odd sore loser who takes the competition a tad too seriously).

Grossed Out Game Show is everything a family Fringe show should be: loud, silly, inclusive, and puts a smile on your dial. If your kids want a show where they don’t just watch the show but become part of it, this is the one to book early.

Grossed Out Game Show is at Umbrella Revolution in The Garden of Unearthly Delights until Sunday, March 22. Get your tickets here.
