Director Megan Dansie’s revival of the play has a number of great strengths, not least the riveting performance of Robert Bell in the lead role.

It may have taken Stiff Little Fingers four decades to come to Adelaide and play a full set but there were obviously a lot of people extremely happy that they finally made the trip.

I don’t know if it was the lack of response and energy from the crowd but things were wound up after forty five minutes.
It’s a great film, and DC have set the tone for their movie-verse – dark, serious and complex.
‘A Bigger Splash’ attempts to tell us we have become so consumed with our own internal emotional dialogues that we have lost the ability to effectively communicate in any broader forum.
The band left a few hundred pre-middle aged people feeling not quite so old and maybe just a little slightly reborn.
The show is in its last days. It’s worth a look if you can get a ticket.
