The Adelaide Festival of Arts program is about to launch, and to set the scene, Artistic Director David Sefton has revealed 2016’s opening event.
The explosive news is, the world famous French Groupe F will present their open-air stadium spectacular À Fleur de Peau at Adelaide Oval on Saturday February 27.
Directed by Christophe Berthonneau, the audio-visual display will be a feast of pyrotechnics and explosions of colour set to an original score by American electro-acoustic composer Scott Gibbons.
To add to the flavour, a cast of highly skilled star and photon tamers will be illuminated on and above a massive projected video display, which also forms a stage.
The projections will turn the stage into vibrant, rolling landscapes as the performers explore the environment around them.
The production observes the, often complicated, relationship between people and the natural world and what we will leave in our wake.
The Adelaide Festival is offering half price tickets to Á Fleur de Peau at $20 for adults and $7.50 for children thanks to The Advertiser and Sunday Mail. Book now.
