The John Steel Singers have dropped a special summer remix of their latest single ‘Weekend Lover’ by Twin Sun and are contributing to a great cause.
Twin Sun are a DJ/Production duo from Reading, UK with a strong adoration of 80s power synths.
John Steel Singers played directly below the Twin Sun’s studio on their last tour, giving ‘Weekend Lover’ one of its first live outings.
The track immediately struck a chord with the duo, who share the John Steel Singers’ love of Can, David Axlerod, Chic, and miniature toy horses.
‘Weekend Lover’ is Twin Sun’s first official remix release, following several edits of artists including Sufjan Stevens, Can, Jamie xx and Fleetwood Mac.
Their Fleetwood Mac edits (including a Georgio Moroder-esque take on ‘Gold Dust Woman’) resulted in them playing Glastonbury this year with the DJ collective Fleetmac Wood, who are currently in Australia for Falls Festival and a number of much anticipated sideshows.
Wanting to do their bit for the greater good of animal kind, The John Steel Singers recently teamed up with RSPCA Queensland to exclusively premiere the video for ‘Weekend Lover’.

The video stars the band’s beloved four-legged besties, Harvey (the Golden Cocker Spaniel), Arrow (the Dachshund) and a cat named Boots, and was filmed over a few weekends at the homes of Luke and Tim, in a few different parks and streets, and a Gold Coast beach.
