NASHVILLE COMING TO ADELAIDE

Nashville had better buckle up for a big dose of Adelaide this September when a bunch of our best and brightest musicians head over for Americana Music Festival, the world’s largest celebration of Americana music. The event brings together fans and music industry professionals alike, offering six days of celebration through seminars, panels and networking opportunities by day and raw, intimate showcases by night.

next-stop-nashville-poster_low-resAmericana, or alt-country as it’s often referred to in Australia, has had a healthy scene in Adelaide for years, but Taasha Coates (The Audreys), Brillig, The Yearlings, and Tara Carragher all know that Nashville is the place to be for this kind of music. The group hatched a plan to head over en masse whilst propping up the bar recently at their favourite local haunt, the Grace Emily Hotel. The stories shared of this music city were intoxicating, and soon enough Nashville virgin Sian Walden of Little Acorn Music was signed up for the trip as well.

The group plan on using the week long stay in Nashville as a platform to showcase their music and hopefully build on their careers, and the bonus of doing that whilst surrounded and supported by friends can’t be underestimated. Industry events like this can be daunting regardless of how well establish an act is, and the artists are all excited to have Sian along for the ride to help with strategy and networking. And with everyone sharing a house together in a trendy East Nashville, it won’t be all work and no play either. Late night porch pickings are a given.

To celebrate and rally support before heading off, the four acts are putting on a mini festival titled ‘Next Stop Nashville’ at The Jade, Adelaide on Sunday August 14th kicking off mid afternoon. The show also forms part of Taasha Coates’ debut solo single tour, so the event offers Adelaide punters the only chance to catch this ARIA Award winning singer/songwriters’ new tunes before her album tour in October. Don’t miss this unique opportunity to see all these great acts in the one place and give them a fabulous send off to Nashville.
