Here’s some great news that’s going to get a lot of people giddy with excitement…Robyn Hitchcock is coming back to town!
The one-time Soft Boy rambles along a meandering path through the musical universe these days and, luckily for local fans, this time he is choosing to take a fork in the road that will, once again, bring him back to Adelaide.
He will be bringing his eclectic, surrealist folk psychedelia to the Grace Emily Hotel on Thursday December 15.
He will be playing material from his latest album, ‘The Man Upstairs’, amongst selections from his diverse back catalogue and punctuating these with the occasional absurdist anecdote.
The tour will also coincide with the release of a new single release which features a duet with Emma Swift, who will be touring with Hitchcock and be his support at the Adelaide show. The two artists will each perform selections from their own repertoire before joining together for a combined set at the end of the show.
Their new single is entitled, ‘Love Is A Drag’, and Hitchcock describes their pairing as ‘the Kath & Kel of psychedelic twang’!
Tickets are $30 (plus booking fee) and as the venue is only small, get your tickets whilst you can!
