Based in NYC, four-piece band The Dives are ready to take the world by storm.
Hailing from both sides of The US and in the middle, it might seem unlikely that these musicians would ever even meet, let alone form a band, but these four guys who produce tight harmonies and infectious hooks, have a fresh sound with a familiar feel.
When asked to describe their sound, Evan Stanley (yup, that’s the son of KISS legend Paul Stanley), lead guitarist and vocalist, says, “We’re a rock and roll band.”
Bass and vocalist Sergio Ortega agrees, explaining, “It’s a rock band playing catchy songs. Big hooks, but rattier than Top 40.”
The Dives’ musical influences are similar enough to create a cohesive sound with memorable hooks, yet diverse enough to infuse their music with modern flavours.
Comprised of guitarist and lead singer Evan Stanley, guitarist and lead singer Mike Lefton, bassist and singer Sergio Ortega and drummer and singer Jimmy Meier, The Dives developed a passionate interest in music as children with all four having been mastering their instruments from an early age.
While musical assumptions may arise when people make the connection between Evan and KISS frontman, Paul Stanley, The Dives are definitely forging their own musical path, promising that you won’t hear anything that sounds like KISS at The Dives’ shows.
With the release of their debut EP, Everybody’s Talkin’ and a UK tour which afforded them an opportunity to play to audiences numbering in the tens of thousands, the band is performing throughout their summer (our winter) and we hope to see them down under as soon as it’s possible.
