The Adelaide Cabaret Fringe Festival has announced a melting pot of a cabaret program, with a robust collection of styles and influences from a stunning range of local emerging stars and established international performers for its 11th annual festival. This will see over 45 events across 15 venues to be held from 1 – 24 June.

It all kicks off Friday night June 1 at The German Club with an Opening Night Gala featuring stars from across the Cabaret Fringe, hosted by Creative Director Jennifer Kingwell.

The program is highlighted by the inclusion of cabaret sensation, Pamela Shaw. Pamela returns to Adelaide with her show Naughty after seasons overseas at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and New York. Naughty brings a musical melange of songs by John Lennon, Paul McCartney, Rickie Lee Jones and Amanda McBroom together with pop, blues and contemporary Broadway. Strap yourself in for the humour and poignancy that is the irrepressible Shaw.

Legendary multimedia crooning weirdo Tomás Ford joins the program offering three laugh-out-loud cabaret thrill rides – in a row, all in one night at La Bohéme! Opening with CRAPTACULAR! Ford brings hilariously warped covers of terrible pop songs, followed by his musical spy thriller CHASE! Before finishing with the comedic nervous breakdown of BRAWL! Ford will also take you back to 1987 for the most ridiculous party in the world and some Oz Style Aerobics with his separate show, Crap Music Rave Party at The Hindley.

Other program highlights announced today include Allegria After Dark, harmonies of Adelaide’s acclaimed acapella group in Adelaide’s Treasury Tunnels. Kitty Van Horne’s iDenTITTY a cabaret adventure into the world of breast ownership, tap and jazz from Diana Scalzi in Bacharach ‘n’ Tap.
