Following a hugely successful concert tour of UK and Europe, the Dire Straits Experience return to Adelaide as part of the band’s third Australian tour this September.
Featuring original band member Chris White and 6 world-class musicians who have performed with the likes of Paul McCartney, Joe Cocker, Ray Charles, David Bowie, Tina Turner, Rod Stewart, Van Morrison and David Gilmour, the show will take audiences through the incredible Dire Straits back catalogue.
In 2016, The Upside News spoke with White spoke about the music that he once performed as part of the Live Aid show at Wembley and on the massive Brothers In Arms and On Every Street world tours in the eighties and early nineties:
“The thing about me, is that I’m kind of a fan as well as a musician. I love playing ‘Romeo and Juliet’, because I get to play quite a bit of saxophone on that, I love ‘Sultans of Swing, ‘Private Investigations’, but really I like them all. I just think that Mark (Knopfler) is a stunning songwriter. And the fact that we are still out doing it is testament to his songwriting.”
