Based in the north of Sweden, Coldspell formed in 2005 by guitarist and songwriter Michael Larsson.
Since their first release back in 2009, ColdSpell have been one of the most talked about bands in Europe in high class Scandi hard rock.
And while they are popular in their homeland, they want to share their music in Australia with plans to come here once they’ve established a fan base.
In fact, Michael Larsson says the love goes both ways, with him being a huge fan of Aussie music.
“Who can’t say they love Australian music? When it comes to me, I
always been a fan of AC/DC, John Farnham, Midnight Oil, INXS, Airbourne
and of course as the guitarist I am, Tommy Emanuel,” he says. “I believe there is a
certain kind of musical language wherever you’re from and Australia has its
own kind of just as it is here in the North.”
The band has released four, critically acclaimed albums thus far, with their latest album A New World Arise released late last featuring 12 new songs of epic proportions cementing ColdSpell firmly on the rock n roll map.
“I do hope Australia will find the sound of Scandinavian hardrock/metal
interesting and that the band from the land of ice and snow will make a
difference in the land of Oz.” Michael says.
The band’s latest single, ‘It Hurts’ was released earlier this year with an accompanying video of the band performing at the Rock City Stockholm Festival, capturing the very essence of Coldspell in it’s purest form,
