Directed by Marcus H. Rosenmüller and based on a true story, The Keeper is an extraordinary love story following a young English woman, Margaret and German soldier, who is a prisoner of war, Bert Trautmann.

Whilst Bert is imprisoned in a camp in Northern England, he meets Margaret and her father Jack, who happens to be the manager of the local football team. Jack is taken by Bert’s exceptional talent as a goalkeeper before recruiting him to play for the local team. Margaret and Bert’s love blossoms and together, they overcome prejudice, public hostility and personal tragedy.

Bert displays heroic acts on and off the football field as he launches into his football career at Manchester City Football Club, winning over the hearts his bullies, that soon become his fans.
