SOUTH AUSTRALIAN FASHION FOCUS WEEKEND TO SHOWCASE LOCAL STYLE IN NOVEMBER

This month, the South Australian Fashion Focus Weekend (SAFFW) is set to exhibit the best of local fashion across an entire weekend.

The inaugural SAFFW will see Adelaide come alive with speakers, stylists and showcases as the 2019 program opens on Friday November 22 and runs until Sunday 24th.

The highly anticipated weekend will encompass a highly curated selection of fashion-forward events, including the Next-Gen Industry Mixer, Fashion in the Port Runway Production and the renowned Creative Lifestyle Market and Designer Showcase.

Featuring local designer brands and keynote addresses from South Australian industry professionals, SAFFW is hosted by Ellery Events Australia led by Creative Director, Katelyn Ellery.

Having spearheaded such events as Social Network Gatherings, Marina Pier Markets, and Rundle Place Style By Me, Katelyn is thrilled to be working with local designers, artists, small business owners, and creatives.

“The South Australian Fashion Focus Weekend was the clear next step for SA’s fashion events,” she says. “[Through creating] an opportunity for local designers, models, and creatives to get involved in a professional fashion event that provides a platform for them to thrive with an accessible entry point, we’re aiming to re-energise the fashion industry with small business in mind.

“Never before has there been an event like this, run by a team of volunteers that’s by the people, for the people. We’re seeking to shake up the status quo and create educational and showcase opportunities for our Adelaide fashion community.”

The Next-Gen Industry Mixer on November 22 welcomes guests to join in the conversation that shines a light on a number of local business owners, aspiring entrepreneurs, and curious creatives. The event will include a Q&A panel featuring Kelly Noble (Glam Adelaide, Glam Digital, Showcase SA),  Cristina Tridente (Couture+Love+Madness), Bec Cochrane (Media Makeup), Brigette Michell (Finesse Models), Luke Schapel (Morphettville Racecourse, Deluca Tailors), Mirella Romano (Sunday Mail), and Ilija and Nicole Sumracki (Nutrition Republic).

The event will also showcase local brands Loveday Collection, Le Periple, Style Capsule, Romp Squad, Siaban, Valente the Label, DeLuca Tailors, Ebony Jay, and Onio Boutique, in addition to giveaways, seasonal canapés, cocktails, and exclusive gift bags.
