South Australia’s newest multi genre immersive performance space, The Lab, has announced their latest classical music series, Interlude.
Showcasing Australia’s most acclaimed classical virtuosos, Interlude presents with a mesmerising backdrop in the intimate Light Square venue launching on Wednesday 31 March at 7pm.
Expect exclusive performances from renowned duo Slava and Sharon Grigoryan alongside sets from the likes of Belinda Gehlert and Adelaide Youth Orchestra, in what will be a regular occurrence.
Anne Wiberg, head of programming at The Lab said Interlude is a new and accessible way of experiencing classical music.
“This is classical music for the modern era. Moving away from traditional performance spaces, this program will pair some of our finest classical artists with state-of-the-art technology and art. We are excited by what is set to evolve here”, she says.
Giving life to Adelaide’s West End precinct, The Lab is situated in South Australia’s newest arts and hospitality hub, Light.

Co-founder Nick Dunstone says Light is thrilled by the calibre of artists The Lab is already attracting.
“Our investment in Light and spaces such as The Lab is about creating art that inspires and creates a benchmark for the future. Programs like Interlude create accessibility to genres of music that play an important role in our cultural fabric,” he says.
Since it’s February Launch, The Lab has already welcomed a plethora of artists and even payed home to the acclaimed Adelaide Fringe season of The Deep North.
