On the 17th of November the SAM Awards will be returning to celebrate the excellent contemporary music industry across South Australia at the newly opened Hindley Street Music Hall.
The new state of the art music venue will be showcased to award categories which recognise both those who are on the front line and those who are behind the scenes of South Australia’s incomparable musical talent.
CEO of MusicSA Christine Schloithe, said it is thrilling to see the SAM Awards return in 2022.
“The SAM Awards are an important and much-loved event for the music industry as we collectively honour the exceptional talent, both on and off the stage, that South Australia boasts. Additionally, it enables us to celebrate the resilience and determination of our contemporary music industry as it emerges stronger than ever after the past two years of the pandemic.”
This year, there with be an introduction of the new regional award categories ‘Best Regional Venue/Music Activation’ and “Best Regional Artist’ as there will be a new focus on regional South Australia talent.
“The talent in South Australia is extraordinary and to adequately reflect that, we encourage as many people as possible to nominate themselves and others who are doing amazing things for music in SA.” said Schloithe.
Nominations are now open for the 2022 SAM Awards and will be closed on Monday October 3rd at 11:59pm.

Presented by MusicSA, the annual SAM Awards have become a standout fixture on Adelaide’s events calendar and is a ‘night of nights’ for the South Australian music community, which expands and enhances the state’s reputation as a home for musical excellence and industry leader as an UNESCO City of Music.
