Illuminate Adelaide 2025 Ignites the City with 134 Unmissable Events

Adelaide’s winter nights are set to dazzle once again as Illuminate Adelaide returns for its fifth spectacular season, boasting an extraordinary lineup that includes nine world premieres and 23 Australian exclusives. With 134 awe-inspiring experiences spanning light, art, music, and technology, the 2025 program is a bold celebration of innovation and creativity.

At the heart of this year’s festival is a powerful vision to transform iconic city landmarks into immersive artistic playgrounds. From the Adelaide Oval, which will be reimagined as a dynamic canvas of drones, light, sound, and sky, to the Adelaide Botanic Garden, where Night Visions promises an extraordinary sensory journey through parallel dimensions, audiences are invited into fantastical new realms shaped by cutting-edge light, laser, projection, and sound design.

In the city’s bustling heart, City Lights returns with a stellar lineup of local, national, and international artists, animating the CBD with a free, vibrant program of large-scale installations and interactive experiences.

A notable Australian premiere exclusive to Adelaide is Offline Club, an event that encourages attendees to disconnect from digital devices and rediscover real-world connection through curated social encounters and immersive atmospheres.

For music lovers, Unsound Adelaide brings a genre-defying lineup of experimental and electronic artists, while a new 12-hour sonic celebration, Supersonic, will take over the West End with boundary-pushing performances and infectious energy.

Illuminate Adelaide Co-founders and Creative Directors Lee Cumberlidge and Rachael Azzopardi reflected on the festival’s evolution, saying:
