SALA 2025 exhibition opens to the public at the Jurlique Farm for the first time
Celebrating four decades of nurturing beauty from nature, South Australia’s globally
renowned skincare brand Jurlique will host an exhibition first on its biodynamic farm
in the Adelaide Hills as part of the SALA Festival 2025.
In a landmark collaboration with Guildhouse, the exhibition Jurlique: 40 Years of
Nature, Nurture and Art, opening 2nd August will showcase a dynamic collection of
work by Guildhouse Members and South Australian artists Shirley Jianzhen Wu,
Samuel Mulcahy and Tim Shaw responding to the farm, its seasonal rhythms, and
its enduring connection to place
The exhibition is curated by Guildhouse, the state’s leading organisation supporting
visual artists, craftspeople and designers for over 59 years. Guildhouse is a proudly
artist-led organisation dedicated to championing South Australian creatives,
expanding professional opportunities, and cultivating a thriving and sustainable creative sector. This project exemplifies Guildhouse’s mission: bringing artistic excellence to spaces while deepening the role of artists in our social and cultural fabric.
Guildhouse CEO Beth Neate said: “We’re thrilled to partner with Jurlique to present this stunning new exhibition at Jurlique Farm, reflecting art and the natural world, with deep South Australian roots. The collaboration between Guildhouse and Jurlique offers South Australian contemporary artists an exciting opportunity to respond to the landscape, at the same time as giving visitors to the farm a unique opportunity to connect meaningfully to place.”
Jurlique, founded in 1985 by Dr Jurgen and Ulrike Klein, is a global skincare brand
rooted in the purity and power of the natural world. Guided by biodynamic farming
principles, Jurlique cultivates potent botanicals on its farm in the Adelaide Hills,
following a meticulous seed-to-skin process. This exhibition celebrates the beauty of
that process, where nature, science, and creativity converge.
CEO of Jurlique International, Loic Rethore said: “As we celebrate 40 years of Jurlique, it is a profound honour to showcase our farm to the public in partnership with Guildhouse for SALA Festival 2025. Our founders, Ulrike and Jürgen Klein, envisioned a skincare brand that worked in harmony with nature – and this exhibition brings that vision to life in a new and meaningful way. Partnering with Guildhouse allows us to honour our shared values: nurturing creativity, celebrating South Australian talent, and deepening our connection to the land. This a fantastic opportunity for visitors to experience the beauty of biodynamic farming, art, and innovation coming together in harmony.”
This collaboration between Guildhouse and Jurlique brings together aligned philosophies: Guildhouse nurtures, connects and promotes South Australian contemporary artists, craft practitioners and designers and Jurlique honours the South Australian landscape through conscious, holistic beauty. Together, they invite new and curious audiences to explore the Jurlique Farm in August during SALA Festival and engage with the region’s artistic talent.
As part of this momentous 40th anniversary celebration, visitors will also have the chance to experience the Exclusive Edition Intense Rose collection and engage with the brand’s Summer harvest of the unique bloom. Jurlique is also offering a limited number of Intense Rose plants for consumers to purchase at their Farm Store in the Adelaide Hills, a first for the brand in its 40-year history. These specially cultivated roses are at the heart of a limited-edition reformulation of Jurlique’s iconic Rose Hand Cream and Balancing Mist a true sensory celebration of four decades of conscious beauty.
