It’s been a turbulent few years for Australian music festivals, with cancellations, weather chaos and post-pandemic challenges hitting the industry hard but Harvest 2025 has come up with the goods.
There are many punters that have had their eyes out for the 2025 Harvest Rock Festival. If you’re a festival fan like me, you’ve probably already been on the edge of your seat waiting for the announcement of will they, won’t they for 2025.
Harvest Rock was launched in 2022 by Splendour in the Grass and Falls Festival promoter Secret Sounds, alongside Live Nation. Harvest Rock quickly made its mark on music lovers’ calendars. With previous lineups boasting the likes of Jamiroquai, Jack White, Beck and Khruangbin; the two-day event captured the spirit of the festival boom years: big international names, homegrown heroes, and enough activations off stage to keep the community atmosphere and the crowd buzzing.
After a year off, Harvest Rock returns in 2025 at full scale, set on Kaurna Country in Adelaide’s city parklands.
Who’s Playing?
Headlining Saturday night is a true coup: The Strokes, playing their first Australian show since 2022—and their first Adelaide performance in nearly two decades. The New York indie-rock legends will deliver an exclusive Australian set, revisiting era-defining tracks from their iconic 2001 debut Is This It through to the Grammy-winning The New Abnormal (2020). For many fans, this could be a once-in-a-lifetime show.
Sunday’s headliner is US country-rap sensation Jelly Roll, making his Australian debut alongside genre-blending breakout star Shaboozey. Both artists are fresh off global tours and arrive in Adelaide just as country music is finding a new wave of crossover popularity.
With its eclectic mix of indie rock, dance, pop, country and electronic music, Harvest Rock 2025 promises to rekindle the magic of the classic festival experience. This will be one to renew your early to mid-2000’s playlist with a host of M.I.A. and hugely successful electronic music duo Groove Armada, delivering a DJ set, and reunited British dubstep legends Skream & Benga, and a Ministry Of Sound Classical which is set to cover the whole history of dance music!
Bringing back Fall Festival 2010 vibes, and coming off the Triple J hottest Australian songs, Wolfmother will be peforming alongside party anthem bands of the last 10 years The Presets and PNAU as well as Bag Raiders who’s hit Shooting Star’s was a croud favorite, Cloud Control will bring the nostalgia with a set for its 15th anniversary celebrations.
It’s not just about the music, festival-goers can expect Harvest’s signature blend of gourmet food, fine wine, and vibrant art installations, creating a uniquely Adelaide festival atmosphere.
