At the heart of the Adelaide Fringe is the celebration of community, creativity and inclusion, and Loud and Proud by the Tutti Arts Choir delivers all three in abundance.
From the moment the performers step on stage, it’s clear that this is no ordinary choir. The Tutti Arts Choir may well be one of the most enthusiastic and passionate groups of performers you’ll encounter at this year’s Fringe. Their energy is infectious, their joy undeniable, and their message unmistakably clear: this is a celebration of diversity and the vibrant community that makes Adelaide so special.
Loud and Proud is exactly that, a show about being unapologetically visible, confident and proud. As the choir performs a mix of songs and stories, the audience is invited into a thoughtful and engaging exploration of the different “colours” of the disability pride flag, each representing experiences within the D/deaf and disability community. It’s both educational and moving, gently guiding the audience through the challenges many disabled artists face while celebrating the immense creative contributions they bring to the world of music.
The audience embraces the experience wholeheartedly, showing patience, warmth and encouragement for the performers. It becomes a shared moment, not just a performance, but a collective celebration.
A standout moment of the evening comes when Adelaide artist Nat Luna joins the choir on stage. With sultry vocals and compelling original songs, she effortlessly wins over the crowd, adding a powerful dynamic to the show and highlighting the depth of talent of South Australia’s artists.
Other musical highlights include Haley and Ben’s soaring vocals on Not the Same, a performance that showcases the choir’s ability to blend emotion, storytelling and musicality into something truly uplifting.
Building on the success of the 2023 Tutti Big Fringe Sing Along, Loud and Proud expands the concept into a full 60-minute musical celebration of disabled singers, songwriters, and musicians. It’s heartfelt, joyous and full of personality.
Most importantly, it’s impossible to leave without a smile. Loud and Proud stands out as one of the most uplifting, feel-good shows at the Fringe, a reminder of the power of music, community, and the pride in sharing your voice. If you’re looking for a show that will leave you inspired, energised and reminded of the richness of Adelaide’s creative community, the Tutti Arts Choir’s Loud and Proud is not to be missed.
