What do you get when you mix bubbles, light-up hula hoops, a giant balloon, and lots of laughs, with an extremely talented and charming performer, and then add a wholesome message of hope and courage? You get the ideal kids’ Fringe show!
Indy’s Odyssey takes kids on a voyage into outer space in search of Courage Crystals, with each new destination featuring circus tricks, fun, immersive activities, and some cool space facts.
Our captain for the odyssey is Indy, whose wonderfully warm, gentle, endearing and very funny persona is equally matched by her outstanding talent for circus and tom-foolery.
I always love it when performers entertain the kids but also include the grownups by sharing the occasional subtle, cheeky – but totally appropriate – joke, which makes it feel like we are in this together. Indy accomplished this while also giving the little ones some valuable lessons in courage, striving to achieve your dreams and respecting consent.
With a banging musical soundtrack, excellent lighting and hula-hoop effects, and some impressive bubble magic created using Indy’s own, home-made bubble mixture, this show is an easy and enjoyable watch.
This is Indy’s first show for children, and she’s clearly working hard to make it entertaining and beneficial for families, which I think is worthy of our support.
Catch the last show of Indy’s Odyssey on Sunday at 1pm in the Kingfisher at Gluttony if you’re looking for a fun family show that will offer plenty of fabulous tricks, some big giggles and a big smile that you will have on your face for hours.
