Next month, Etypejazz will launch their tenth album, Martini Blue in Adelaide.
On Sunday, December 7, the five piece who have sold over 28, 000 albums will launch the album they recorded in front of a live studio audience.
The latest offering from Mike Haynes (double bass), Katrina Ryan (vocals), Beth Lyon (sax), Lainie Jamieson (piano) and Barnabas Smith (drums) won’t disappoint fans of the band’s signature cool, soulful, bluesy sound.
Reflecting the sexy sounds of the sixties, Martini Blue promises to capture the energy and spontaneity of the group, which singer Katrina Ryan says worked out better than they expected.
“We are really excited about the CD. It sounds incredible and has come up so much better than we anticipated,” she says.
“After 20 years it really reflects our friendships, our journey together in the band and the way we have emulsified over the years to have this really tight family unit.”
Join Etypejazz at the Arkaba on 7th December to celebrate the band’s 20 years in the business and their tenth album; they ask that you wear a touch of blue to mark their occasion!
