TRUTH, BEAUTY AND DELUSIONS OF GRANDEUR AT THIS YEAR’S FRINGE

Award winning Malaysian belly dancer Aiza will join Fashionably Late this Fringe.

Following the success of last year’s Box Set Blues, Fashionably Late are ambling back to the Adelaide Fringe to complain about something new.

This time, though, husband and wife team Matt and Libby have enlisted the talents of Malaysian belly dancing sensation Aiza, to help tell their tales of woe and wonder.

Both approaching their dreaded forties, Matt and Libby were reflecting and reminiscing in their lounge room about days gone by.

Realising their lives had been made up of moments of truth, beauty and some wild delusions of grandeur, they sat down and wrote some hilarious songs about it all.

Having seen Aiza perform in Malaysia in 2014, the pair thought she’d be a perfect fit for their show because everyone knows burlesque is so hot right now.

With a mix of original music and some more familiar tunes, Fashionably Late tell you what’s wrong (and right) with the world, and themselves.

Blending comedy, music, satire and burlesque, Fashionably Late invite you to an evening of reflection and ridicule, with guest appearances by some famous faces.

Fans of last year’s show will be pleased to know there will be a repeat performance of the famous masked lap dance, just with a slight change in character.

Fusing elements of traditional belly arts with modern dance and burlesque to express the grandeur in the world, professional dancer, model, and award winning performer Aiza brings an exotic beauty to the show.

Truth, Beauty and Delusions of Grandeur plays for two nights only at The Office on Pirie, 110 Pirie St Adelaide.

8:00pm Friday 27th February
7:00pm Saturday 28th February
