COMPETITION: WIN TICKETS TO THE ROYAL ADELAIDE SHOW, 2016

It’s almost that time again where the Wayville Showgrounds dust off the Ferris Wheel, start dipping the dogs and open the gates to hoards of excited show-goers.

In 2016, the Royal Adelaide Show is again jam packed with a wonderful variety of exhibitions, animals, magic and mayhem.

Adelaide’s favourite Show gets bigger and brighter every year, and we want you to be able to join the fun.

To win a family pass (2 adults, 2 children or 1 adult, 3 children) for the Royal Adelaide Show, simply reply below telling us your favourite thing about the Show.

You must be a South Australian resident to enter and winners will be notified via email on 23rd August, 2016.

I love the atmosphere!!! The rides, the animals, the food, the excitement of the children… Everything leads to an atmosphere that can’t be replicated artificially. I love the Adelaide Show!!!

The carnival foods you only eat at The Show: fairy floss, Dagwood dogs, hot jam donuts.

The absolute excitement of the kids from seeing all the rides, show bags and games, contrasted with the absolute hatred of the adults from paying for the rides, carrying the show bags and getting fleeced by the carnies!

I love listening to the songs my kids sing on the way in the car. The squeals of excitement as they see the Ferris wheel and the smiles on my kids faces as they carry out all their loot from the day.

I love seeing the excitement on the children’s faces when they see all the animals, the fun rides and trying to choose which show bag they want. I love the Horticulture, cookery displays and all the atmosphere that goes with the Show.

The atmosphere and joy on my boys face when he sees all the ‘scary’ rides, the events on the main arena and waiting for him to pick all his show bags 🙂

I loved the Royal Adelaide show as a little girl and I love it even more now that I have two kids. It’s even better than it used to be….the agriculture, cookery, pig and various shows, expos and entertainment. It really is a day out for everyone now, not just the kids. Even now my favourite thing is to browse the show bag catalogue that comes printed before the commencement of the show.

I try to convince our 3 kids that they want to go to look at the animals/displays/expos etc but I know they just want to go for the rides! We haven’t been to the Show for years. I tell the kids if they can win some free tix I’ll take them…I don’t think they have bothered to enter anything!

I love the car racing and the fire works at the end of the day when you can all snuggle up together and watch the lights glimmer in the kids eyes

The nostalgia! Being at the show brings back so many wonderful childhood memories for me. Going on the rides with my mum, playing on all the sideshows with my dad. Picking out showbags with my brothers. Then there were the years we went with friends or boys as teenagers, no parents, stayed there for the whole day and night. And now as a mum of 4 I get to take my kids and see how much joy the show brings to them (it fills my heart) and I can only hope they get as much out of it for the next 30+ years as I have to this day 💙

I’m a Royal Show addict! I love everything about it, from the woodchopping, decorated cakes, pig racing, wine tasting, Ferris Wheel, fireworks and the baby animals to the showbags and the excitement on my son’s face as he plays the sideshow games. Most of all though, I love the delicious and completely unhealthy Show food! It’s only once a year, right?

I love everything about the show! the atmosphere, the smell of donuts, the rides, the show bags and don’t forget the fireworks at the end. I’m just like a big kid 🙂 Only I’d love to be able to take my two boys this year to see the excitement on their faces.

How much can a wood chopper chop?
As much a wood chopper could,
It’s a funny saying but it’s my favourite thing,
to visit since early childhood.

So off to the show, I’ll go this year,
And wait in the stands til I see,
The wood choppers chop their logs of wood,
It’s the highlight of the show for me.

I love meeting and talking to all the different show exhibitors. For some its a full time job going around from show to show bringing us entertainment and food, for others they come to educate and some are there to volunteer their time for the good of their club – like scouts etc. My children love completing the yellow brick road and my wife enjoys everything! She researches the dates for next years show before we’ve even been to this one because she plans everything around this event haha

We love the Royal Show because it appreciates people who work hard! So many people go the show for the rides and sideshows but the main bit for us is to see all the farmers and animal owners and local businesses and artists of different fields proudly show us the best of what they have and can do. And teaching our children that with perserverance and hard work, they can achieve the same. The Royal Show is about celebrating South Australia and all it has to offer 🙂

I’m 10 so I get to go on rides show bags spend time with my family and have fun I would love to win so I can pay my mum and dad back and I love the food and animals and in pautular the pigs

I remember how excited I was to go to the penny arcade at the Royal Show. Now I’m just as excited to go to all the displays. There really is something for everyone …. no matter how old 😉

The best thing I love about the Ryal Adelaide Show are the rides. I’m a bit of a dare devil and love the fast scary ones. I don’t have to worry about going to the Gold Coast for thrilling rides, I can just go to the Show and feel the exhilaration. Can’t wait !!! 😨

The Adelaide Show is like Christmas for us,
But instead of Ho Ho Ho, it’s Moo, Moo, Moo!
The kids love the animals, and we all love the rides.
The hot foods, the showbags and bumping into old friends
Are what make a day at the show such a highlight!!

Fun family day, no matter the cost!
Showbag hall, a buzz and alive,
pushing through crowds, lucky I survuve 🙂
sideshow alley, laughing clowns
scary rides, up then down!
Smiles on my childrens faces
nothing beats the Adelaide show
and all its places.

When i was young we loved seeing the animals and watching the little pigs race. I can’t wait to see my little ones face light up when she picks her piggy and watches him race! 3 years old and such an animal lover already!

Our favourite part of the show is being able to spend time as a family. Life is so hectic for so many people, but the show brings everyone together, to make memories.

i love the atmosphere the excitement the variety of things to do. the taste testing the stage events the lovely horses which are my favorite animals. but i love seeing all the otger ones especially the cute pig racing.
