FRINGE REVIEW: RED DRESS & THE SUGAR MAN, LA BOHEME

Marisa Quigley has the kind of voice I could listen to all day. Soulful, bluesy, sexy, powerful; this woman is the quintessential performer.

Weaving Tom Waits’ songs into a poetic narrative of spoken word verse, Quigley presents a one hour cabaret-style production paying tribute to the legendary American singer songwriter with her own signature on it.

Accompanied by accomplished musicians, Rudi Katterl on guitar, Chris Mangan on double bass and keys, Adelaide’s Sam Marshall on drums, and gorgeous harmonies from Bella Jeanne Rafaell and Priscilla Jane Armstrong, this is a show where you can kick back and immerse yourself in stunning music and poetry.

Intelligently constructed and wonderfully performed, Red Dress & The Sugar Man is a quality production and one to see before Fringe Festival leaves us for another year.
