Opera singer and vocal coach Barbara Tanze is one of only eight certified Level 2 MDH Breathing Coordination practitioners in the world and she is coming to Adelaide to pass on her knowledge.
Suitable for vocal students from senior secondary school to professional status, the MDH Breathing Coordination Workshop will teach techniques used by athletes and singers to develop the simultaneous and optimal function of all the various muscles involved in respiration.

About Barbara Tanze
Barbara Camille Tanze was born in Munich and grew up in Germany, the US and Switzerland. She studied opera singing and vocal pedagogy at the conservatoire de Lausanne in Switzerland. She has performed in such leading roles as Violetta Valery of La Traviata by Verdi and Susanne in Mozart’s le Nozze di Figaro.
Barbara Tanze has won a series of awards and was the finalist at the international competition Festspielstadt Passau in Germany. She co-writes and directs programmes and projects for her group The Petticoat Girls, as well as collaborating with different other ensembles and groups.
In 2013 Barbara Tanze started her private studio for vocal health in Slovenia where she is a singing instructor as well as professor of MDH Breathing Coordination, a new and revolutionary method aimed at optimising people‘s breathing efficiency. She works with singers, athletes, actors and individuals with various pathologies and is an international master teacher of the method since 2017, travelling and holding classes and workshops internationally.
