After the success of last year’s Next Gen Journo course, Expressions Media is once again seeking budding journalists to learn the tricks of the trade.
Open to all high school students, the full day, interactive course is held by journalist, publicist and teacher Libby Parker at Raj House (54 Hyde Street, Adelaide) on Thursday October 11.
Keen young Adelaide writers will learn how to become top notch journalists from the team at online media outlet, The Upside News, and will get to write some great stories and ask the tough questions at a press conference.
Libby, who has written for The Advertiser, Barker Mag, BSide Magazine, The Upside News, Inside South Australia, Refraction Media and Glam Adelaide says she is looking forward to meeting the next generation of media masterminds.
“After the success of the first workshop, I am thrilled to be offering this opportunity again, giving Adelaide youths a real taste of the publishing industry and teaching practical skills they can take home with them,” Libby says.
Participants will learn interview skills, how to construct an article, photo journalism and editing skills, with an opportunity for their work to be published in The Upside News.
Places in the workshop are very limited, however, so contact Expressions Media to secure your place.
Running from 9am until 4pm with full catering, students just need to bring their own device.
