An urban, music showcase in aid of mental health awareness, A Lyric 4 Ur Thought is set to raise the roof, as well as cash for Headspace.
Emerging Australian hip hop artist and event organiser Eskatology (AKA Jonathan Stier), who has struggled with his own demons wants to see change around mental health related issues.
“I want people to know they’re not alone and that there is help out there. Through music, we can build a community and people will know there is support available,” Eskatology says.
“Music has really helped me to find a focus and Headspace are an excellent organisation who work hard to assist people with mental health issues so A Lyric 4 Ur Thought will pay tribute to both.”
Featuring Eskatology himself along with local such as Homeward Bound, which is the merging of local hip hop legend Jimblah and his partner in life and music Georgia Humphries (Goji), and award-winning artist, poet, and founder of record label Playback 808 DyspOra, A Lyric 4 Ur Thought will be a celebration of words, music and community.
“It’s set to be a diverse night of sounds from acoustic to boom bap beats to strong, smooth words,” Eskatology says. “It’s a night to join in for a good cause and show support and solidarity for people battling with mental health issues.”
Playing at The Jade in the heart of the city on July 12 from 8pm, A Lyric 4 Ur Thought is a showcase of exceptional South Aussie artists and an excellent cause.
If you’re feeling down in the cold weather, beat the winter blues and join in the beats, rhymes and positive feels at A Lyric 4 Ur Thought.
