BEDROOM SECRETS REVEALED IN BEHIND-THE-SCENES LOOK INTO SOME OF ADELAIDE’S BEST MUSICAL TALENT

Umbrella: Winter City Sounds’ Producer Series in Rundle Mall is set to give shoppers a sneak peek into the home studios of local music makers.

Between July 15 – 18, Adelaide producer Luke Million, plus a collection of Northern Sound System artists will set up shop in Rundle Mall in an immersive, musical installation.

Producer Series

The bedroom studio (original shell from RCC Fringe pictured above), smack, bang in the middle of the iconic shopping precinct will be a replica of the place so many great songs have arisen from, and where passers by can stop and put on headphones to listen in to songwriting in action

Event organiser Steve Pitkin says the unique Rundle Mall Producer Series event will let the general public into a world they might never normally encounter through.

“We wanted to engage audiences with something they may not be used to and that might surprise them,” Steve says. “So you can catch synth sensation Luke Million, and Nick O’Connor with artists from Northern Sound System. And every morning there will be random, surprise artists you can watch creating musical magic from the middle of the mall. Luke was perfect for this job, as his story comes from writing songs in the bedroom. Just like Flume and a huge amount of artists.”

With the support of Rundle Mall, Music SA, City of Adelaide, SAE Institute Australia and Northern Sound System, this never before seen installation is an exciting first for Umbrella: Winter City Sounds.

To get a look into the process of production and song writing, head to Rundle Mall from July 15 to 18 each day.
