After finding love on The Bachelor, Dr Matt Agnew didn’t picture himself single again on Valentine’s Day, but he put on a brave face at The Parlour in Gluttony to kick off his science talk Dr Matt Agnew’s Guide to Life Beyond Earth.
Agnew is an astrophysicist with a PhD with a vast knowledge of our solar system and the galaxies beyond. In a 60-minute TED talk of sorts, Agnew posed the existential question of whether there is life out there and if so where and how? And it was all backed by science.
Despite a few technical hiccups, Agnew kept the audience engaged throughout. Stopping to confirm people understood as he excitedly explained the possibilities of extra-terrestrial life within our solar system and the exoplanets beyond.
Agnew’s passion for space was palpable as he geeked out over scientific findings and the potential alien life beyond our planet.
It brushed off on the audience who had dozens of questions during the Q&A session at the end of the show. You’re left with a sense of speculation and possibility about whether the life on Earth is all there is. It’s definitely food for thought, and let’s be honest, the host is pretty easy on the eyes.
**** Four stars.
Dr Matt Agnew’s Guide to Life Beyond Earth is showing at The Parlour, Gluttony until February 23. Get your tickets here.
