Picture a great night out with your friends. There’s a band playing all the songs you love to sing along to at the top of your lungs, the drinks are flowing and everyone’s having a great time.
That’s the vibe of Massaoke Mixtape. A 3-hour marathon of singing, dancing and just plain fun.
To warm the crowd up, a bit of B-52’s “Love Shack” upon entry into The Box in the Garden of Unearthly Delights. The room filled with revellers looking to sing the night away.
Starting at 11pm and running until the wee hours of 2am, lasting the full extent is no mean feat. Particularly if you’re screaming the lyrics to the pop gems from across the ages throughout.
The band was tight and chimed in vocally during the times where people didn’t really know the lyrics or the tune so they just mutter it softly.
From 70’s and 80’s classics to modern pub favourites, glam rock, disco, ballads and all. Massaoke Mixtape had something for everyone. What’s best about it is the lack of judgement you get for squawking the lyrics out with your golden voice as everyone else is doing the same.
Just make sure you drink lots of water as you may lose your voice by the end of the show.
A rollicking good time and a great way to cap the night off after you’ve had a few drinks.
**** Four stars.
