FANGZ RELEASE NEW MUSIC

After releasing their warmly received single ‘Falling Out’, Sydney-based melodic-punk group, FANGZ, have just unveiled their brazen new cut ‘Drifter’ – produced by Stevie Knight (Yours Truly, Stand Atlantic, The Dead Love), and mixed by James Paul Wisner (Hands Like Houses, Underoath).

LISTEN TO ‘DRIFTER’ NOW

Opening with an infectious and searing guitar riff, ‘Drifter’ swiftly kicks into gear with its monstrous rhythmic section, as the compelling vocals of front man Josh Cottreau soar effortlessly above. The track maintains a roaring consistency, never swaying from its relentless energy.

Cottreau describes the motivation behind ‘Drifter’:

“Drifter is about making the realisation that your value doesn’t decrease based on someone else’s inability to see your worth. It’s about dealing with depression and anxiety as a result of your surroundings and making a change for the better. Being a drifter doesn’t mean you’re running away from your problems, sometimes it means going it alone and finding a better state of being”.

After the cancellation of their originally planned East-Coast tour, the band have announced three live-streamed performances on YouTube to coincide with the release. This continues on from a bustling live schedule, where the group have traversed the country sharing stages with the likes of Comeback Kid (CAN), Cancer Bats (CAN), Gyroscope, Totally Unicorn and Bare Bones.

Previous single ‘Falling Out’ was strongly embraced by radio stations triple j, triple j Unearthed, The Faction, FBi, SYN FM and 4ZZZ, and online press outlets Pilerats, Blunt Magazine, Hysteria Magazine, Music Feeds, Wall of Sound, The Music, Soniq Sounds and The Soundcheck. The track was also added to Spotify’s ‘New Punk Tracks’ and Apple Music’s ‘The New Rock’ playlists.

In the coming weeks FANGZ will reveal an accompanying music video for ‘Drifter’.
