THE UMBILICAL BROTHERS RETURN TO ADELAIDE FRINGE WITH WORLD PREMIERE

International comedy phenomenon The Umbilical Brothers once again return to Adelaide Fringe to premiere their new show The Distraction at The Garden of Unearthly Delights, Umbrella Revolution from 19 February to 21 March.

The Distraction collides the energy of live performance and the experience of cinema into a show performed across both platforms…at once.

Shane Dundas, one of two brothers, said they have always imagined movie-esque visuals when creating and performing.

“This time you get to see what we’re imagining, right there onscreen in real time. We’ll be wrestling with live special effects. It’s going to be pretty freaky,” he says.

The show will also see the comedic duo collaborate with Doug Bayne, a visual effects master who’s use of technology will transport audiences to a new realm of mime, dialogue, slapstick, puppetry and voice effects that The Umbilical Brothers are so well known for.

Offering a unique mix of mind-bending comedy and back-breaking physicality, The Umbilical Brothers have seen the world including in support of icons such as Robin Williams and N’Sync.

If rave reviews from the New York Times and a New York Drama Desk nomination aren’t enough to convince you, cut the cord and see for yourself this Adelaide Fringe season!
