Coming to Adelaide Fringe this season is musician and coach Jennifer Trijo with her cabaret meets motivational talk show Someday, at Nexus Arts, Lion Arts Factory from 20th February – 13th March.
An avid reader of positive psychology and neuroscience texts, Jennifer has transformed her research into uplifting original pop music to allow audiences to absorb lessons of mindfulness in a harmony of music, words and messages.
Born in Manila, Philippines and raised in Sydney, Jennifer honed her cabaret talents in support of major Filipino and Australian artist on their national tours as well as performing in professional theatre productions such as the Miss Saigon (Australian Tour), Cross and Light (Australian premiere), and Disenchanted! (Australian premiere).
Jennifer believes in living mindfully and adopting a growth mindset to improve her life and has designed her show to provide exactly that to audiences.
“Think of it as a TED talk meets cabaret with uplifting original pop music in style of Alicia Keys, Jason Mraz, Joni Mitchell, Sting, Lauren Hill, and Alan Menken. Lyrically, it’s based on observations about the human experience infused with positive psychology and neuroscience research,” Jennifer says.
At its heart, Someday is a show about self-improvement and making the most of the opportunities in life, curated to leave you feeling inspired and motivated to accomplish your personal goals with a long lasting hum of Jennifer’s music resonating in your head post performance.
Developed under the mentorship of professional musicians Emily Tulloch and Naomi Keyte through the Nexus Arts Interplay Artist Development Program 2020, Someday is a product of culturally diverse musicians based right here in Adelaide.
“As well as celebrating human experience, I’ve brought together musicians with Italian, Polish, and Filipino heritage to deliver a message that’s relatable to anyone who has a mind, a heart, and a desire to achieve something,” she says.
Join Jennifer at Someday in an original performance of enriching and enlightening sound this Adelaide Fringe Festival.
