Opening tonight in the Space Theatre at Adelaide Festival Centre, a revamped return of hit show Express promises to take audiences on a dynamic, yet risqué journey through high-octane performances.
Presented by One Eye Open arts company the show is spellbinding from start to finish with show-stopping vocals and cheeky, yet sultry burlesque flair.
Express Production Coordinator Pep Rigano says the show, which enjoyed a sell out season on its debut in 2021 is devised with the performers at the fore.
“We are so excited to bring Express back to the Adelaide Festival Centre in 2022. We have built this production around the extravagant, yet twisted personalities that jump onboard and we can’t wait to share this interactive production,” Pep says.
This iteration of Express is set to deliver a more contextual story, improved staging and a bit of burlesque energy, accompanied by an original score written by Erin McKellar, who won a prestigious Helpmann Academy award in 2020.
Featuring 13 local singers, dancers and musicians, Express showcases the high standard of talent and production we have in South Australia.
Created to support local artists returning home from their overseas or interstate arts careers at the peak of the pandemic, One Eye Open has provided work for well-seasoned artists and crew in what was a difficult time for the creative industries.
Express returns to the Adelaide Festival Centre for one week only with eight shows.
Tickets are available through Ticketek.
