Adelaide just does it better it – and when it comes to our festivals – it’s no different.
The Adelaide Fringe has just been awarded Best Festival in the People’s Choice Uniquely Aussie Awards presented by Wotif, being commended for bringing Adelaide “to life for a month.”
Already recognised as one of the world’s biggest arts festivals, the Fringe has been attracting artists and visitors to our state for over 60 years, and this award will come as no surprise to locals.
Adelaide Fringe Director and CEO Heather Croall says that the Fringe is not just about the art, but it’s about the effect that the people who migrate to Adelaide have on the city.
“The city’s atmosphere shifts and people really embrace that and lean into the diversity.
“Winning the People’s Choice award for Best Festival is a particularly fantastic acknowledgement of Adelaide Fringe from those who know it the best and a great litmus test for the direction we’ve been heading in recent years,” she says.
With the 2022 Adelaide Fringe attracting 3.2 million attendees across 31 days, we at Upside Adelaide cannot wait to see what the 2023 season will bring.
The 2023 Adelaide Fringe will run from 17 February to 19 March 2023 with tickets on sale from early December.
