Adelaide Fringe Review: Jacob Jackman – Soup Of The Day (Fool For a Lifetime)

Hilarious, absurd, poignant, irreverent, and a damned good time, Jacob Jackman treats his audience to a one-man masterclass of stand-up, sketch comedy, silliness and social commentary.

Soup Of The Day (Fool For a Lifetime) is playing at Prompt Creative Centre for five shows only and is worth a watch to peer into the inner workings of the brain of a local comedian – quite literally, actually, but I won’t give spoilers.

While the show follows the making of the fictional biopic of 80s comedian Jerry Pissfeld (a comic who only does observational comedy about piss), it is spliced with hilarious and well-crafted comedy, including such highlights as a Garfield exposé, an inside out comedian and the whole audience rising for the national anthem of a nondescript motherland.

With big laughs, complete silliness, and clever use of voice-over and audio, Jacob Jackman’s Soup of the Day (Fool For A Lifetime) is the perfect recipe.
