Adelaide Fringe Festival 2023: Electric Skies

Electric Skies a beautiful First Nations Australian Event that is not only seen but felt.

By immaculate design, technological wizardry and maybe even a little Extra-Terrestrial influence – Electric Skies lights up Pakapakanthi / Victoria Park with buzzing stars (drones) capturing both our imagination and inspiring some new constellations.

Sit back on a picnic rug or a low-deck chair and soak up the festival like atmosphere that is Electric Skies. Much like live music, Electric Skies brings people together and inspires onlookers with a sense of community and feelings of awe-provoking artistry.

Fair warning, Electric Skies is a two night only event (Friday 24th of Feb and Saturday 25th of Feb 2023) so get yourselves a couple of extremely well-priced tickets: $35 pp, $30 per child (2 – 12 y/o) and a family deal of $120 (Admits 2 adults & 2 children or 1 Adult & 3 children. Children are aged 12 and under. Price listed as price per family member and must be bought in multiples of 4).

With such modestly priced tickets for such an incredible experience you’ll receive not only the hauntingly hypnotic drone show (8:50pm) but also live music from Nathan May and Electric Fields as well as a barrage of outstanding food stalls which can only be compared to the likes of WOMAdelaide in terms of diversity, multicultural options and fan favourites alike. There is also plenty of beer, cider and prosecco to circulate and sedate.

Electric Skies is a family friendly affair with plenty for the kiddies to enjoy including obnoxious amounts of Fairy Floss and disco doodads to keep them both entertained and on a sugar rush.

Electric Skies is not only mesmerising but has a crucial story to tell. Many of our favourite stories from The Dreaming take centre stage, and indigenous birds, snakes, echidnas, flora and fauna are all brought to life by this ariel artistry.

Please go and see Electric Skies immediately (as in tomorrow). You will not be disappointed.

I dare say, this may be a show you’ll be droning on about for quite some time…

What a beautifully portrayed poignant reminder that it Always Was, Always Will Be, Aboriginal Land.
