Following critically acclaimed sell-out runs in Melbourne, Brisbane and Sydney, Murder Village: An Improvised Whodunnit is set to visit Adelaide for the first time at the Dom Polski Centre as part of Adelaide Fringe Festival 2024.
This hilarious Agatha Christie-style improvised show features some of Australia’s best improvisers, including Jason Geary (Thank God You’re Here), Rik Brown (Magic Mike Live) and Lliam Amor (Escape from Pretoria).
Fresh off the back of a run of successful seasons – including a Sydney Fringe appearance where Murder Village won the Meraki Arts Bar Remount Award – it was only a matter of time before Murder Village came to the Southern Hemisphere’s biggest Fringe Festival.
Each show’s plot uses audience suggestions as inspiration, ensuring no two performances will ever be the same.
The audience votes for each show’s murder weapon, victim and murderer by secret ballot, so mystery lovers can have their say while enjoying the chance to try to solve the crime themselves.
“For an hour, audiences live inside an Agatha Christie novel they’ve never read,” director David Massingham says. “It’s just the place to meet vicars, retired generals, village fete committee members and amateur sleuths with a knack for solving murders.”
“Completely enthralling. ★★★★★” – Theatre People
