Fringe hits the beach at Glenelg Winter Arts Festival

If you’re looking for something to do these school holidays, it’s all happening down at the sea side!

The Glenelg Winter Arts Festival returns to the shoreline of Glenelg this winter promising a thrilling lineup of events that will once again transform this iconic Adelaide coastal location into a hub of creativity and entertainment.

From the 5th to the 21st of July, Glenelg’s premier reserve will come alive with a myriad of ticketed shows for kids, families and grownups, which is the perfect way to take the chill off the air this July.

With plenty of undercover spaces perfect, an electric atmosphere filled with live entertainment, hot food, and a bar serving a special winter drinks menu, framed by fire pits and big-top tents, your winter school holidays are sorted.

Fill your belly and then head inside the cosy, heated venues to enjoy a lineup of headliner stand-up comedy, thrilling circus acts, captivating cabaret, and riveting family shows.

Featuring the comedic brilliance of Wil Anderson and Geraldine Hickey, the mesmerising performances of Rouge and Dom Chambers, the soulful melodies of Prinnie Stevens, the energy of Millicent Sarre, and witness the awe-inspiring acrobatics of Circus the Show.

Enjoy the hilarious ‘Extra Curricular’ by former teachers Libby & Matt, who turn staffroom antics into a chaotic cabaret with song and humour, and let Tash York entertain you with her distinctive style.

Director of Gluttony, Elena Kirschbaum said, “After last year’s overwhelming success, we are thrilled to bring back Glenelg Winter Arts Festival with a fresh lineup of acts and entertainment. Festival-goers can expect the same signature atmosphere that made last year’s event so special, with even more surprises and delights in store. This year promises to be bigger, better, and more unforgettable than ever before!”

City of Holdfast Bay Mayor Amanda Wilson said “Glenelg is perfectly positioned to host a winter festival once again, with so much to enjoy – before and after seeing a show. We cannot wait to welcome back crowds to the second edition of the Glenelg Winter Arts Festival which will again be Adelaide’s hottest event this July.”

“It’s so easy to jump on a tram from the city and arrive in the heart of Glenelg at Moseley Square. Take a stroll over to Colley Reserve, grab a bite to eat along the way on Jetty Road and then enjoy a fantastic line-up of live shows including comedians, burlesque and circus performers. The thing I love most is that this is more than just an arts festival – it’s a place to make memories, escape the chill of winter with warm company and experience the best of Glenelg. It’s inclusive and accessible to everyone. This year, we have some new events too – free Teddy Bears Picnic and a Dogs Day Out. And as the performance space has been doubled this year, that means double the fun!” Mayor Wilson said.
