Adelaide Fringe Review: Kaput – Fool’s Paradise, 2026

Classic clowning, clever storytelling, acrobatics and some death-defying feats will have your kids in stitches with Kaput at Fool’s Paradise this Fringe.

A hapless romantic stumbles through a series of unfortunate and hilarious accidents as he tries to screen a film through an old projector.

What ensues is an hour of chaotic clumsiness with some popcorn throwing, a few splashes and the occasional mild explosion.

Both adults and kids will love this comedy of errors and its clever narrative, which exudes so much infectious joy it leaves you realising how much we all need to embrace our inner child and laugh at bum jokes a bit more often.

The first half of the show is fast-paced with boundless energy and big ‘wow’ moments, which had the children in the audience practically jumping out of their chairs with excitement.

The second half of the show was a steadier pace and a lot less chaos, with some beautiful classic clowning, that appealed to an older audience with its sweet and sincere moments.

Kaput is showing every weekend of Adelaide Fringe at Fool’s Paradise in Victoria Square / Tarntanyangga.
