Adelaide Fringe Review: Urvi Majumdar – “Miss! – Rhino Room, 2026

Finding a gem of a show in an overwhelmingly large festival program is the best feeling, and Urvi Majumdar – “Miss!” is one of those shows.

Relief teacher by day, comedian by night, Urvi Majumdar, who you might recognise from hit shows like Fisk, Guy Montgomery’s Guy Mont Spelling Bee and Spicks and Specks (ABC) or Cheap Seats (Channel Ten), packed out the Alley Cat at Rhino Room and led us through hilarious tales of being a teacher, single life, and being of Indian cultural heritage.

Urvi is one of those warm and personable comics who makes you feel like she’s speaking directly to you; drawing you into a perfectly executed routine and then knocking down punchlines like an expert markswoman, all while making you feel like she’s just popped the kettle on for a casual chat on the couch.

Sharing relatable, real stories and clever, hilarious anecdotes, Urvi’s delivery is smooth and confident with enough surprises and biting wit to make sure to keep her audience engaged and hanging on every word.

Anyone who appreciates clever comedy and exceptional delivery will enjoy this show, but in particular, it’s a must-see for those rebellious teachers in the faculty who need a good belly laugh.
