Melbourne based producer Julian Schweitzer has teamed with Aussie front-woman, Dallas Frasca to drop their new single, ‘Seeking Available Mavens’.
Set for release on all major platforms on Friday the 14th of August, the ‘anti-cookie-cutting’ collaboration between the pair has created a dark-grit pop song, a lovechild of Gorillaz meets Lizzo.
“This is a big step out of the genre I usually sit in but couldn’t resist the invitation after hearing the rad demo Schweitzer sent through,” Dallas says. “I’ve been involved in so many amazing opportunities in the past year involving women helping me stand on their shoulders, so this song is an ode to them. It’s a manifestation of empowerment in surrounding yourself with humans that are going to support you and walk away from those who are not.”
In celebration of the release, Julian and Dallas have teamed up to hold an epic competition: ‘Seeking Available Mavens’ 2020 #SAM2020”.
The competition asks the public to dob in a mate (maven) who has made amazing contributions small or large in their community. and all of the pre-sale monies raised via Bandcamp will go to the best ‘dob in’.
‘Seeking Available Mavens’ (Ft Dallas Frasca) is the fifth single release for Julian Schweitzer.
His discography features vocalists from across the globe, which most recently featured well-known NYC based artist Garth.
Behind the scenes, Julian has worked as a producer for artists including Tones And I, Sterling Campbell (David Bowie, B-52s) Steve Tyssen, Nick Oliveri (QOTSA) and Garth (USA).
More known for the huge energy rock show that is likely to leave you drenched on the search for your missing shoe, Dallas Frasca makes an effortless transition into the pop format with her well-known raspy trademarks vocal delivering a ‘packed with punch’ performance.
‘Seeking Available Mavens’ comes out worldwide on all digital platforms August 14th 2020.
