AN ENTERTAINING BLANK CANVAS AWAITS THIS ADELAIDE FRINGE

Acclaimed Adelaide circus company Cirque Nocturne is back with a brand-new production for the
2022 Adelaide Fringe but this time, you are part of the action.

An art class with attitude, Blank Canvas invites the audience to bring a sketchpad and art supplies so you can draw circus, dance and burlesque performers in their element.

The performers will perform, as well as offer life-drawing style poses while you watch, sketch or just enjoy.

“This is a circus show mashup with an art class, where the performers will present short life-drawing style poses after their acts, so you sketch down their incredible performances on paper. Even if you’ve never done any life drawing before, everyone is encouraged to have a go!” producer and performer Kate Lawrence says.

Having presented quality circus at Adelaide Fringe since 2016, Cirque Nocturne is bringing a team of world class performers to the stage this year.

“We have a host of amazing Adelaide based and interstate circus and burlesque performers. Our cast includes reigning Miss Burlesque SA Letitia Stitch, former international gymnast Amber Kaldor, former Circus Oz acrobat Marcela Scheuner, and me, internationally acclaimed circus artist Kate Lawrence, as well as a slew of other incredible performers!” Kate says.

“The show is designed to be fun and interactive. Even if you don’t fancy having a go at the life drawing aspect, the cast will still put on an amazing circus show that you can enjoy in its own right. If you do fancy having a go at drawing the performances, it is a completely judgement-free environment and all artistic expression is encouraged!”

Blank Canvas is showing at Queen Street Ballroom at Rob Roy Hotel on 6, 13 and 20 March. Book your tickets HERE.
