The National Pharmacies Christmas Pageant is happening this weekend with 35,000 people confirmed to attend.
Officially marking the start of the festive season across South Australia, the pageant is a State favourite for kids and adults alike.
This year, as the Accessibility and Inclusion partner for the National Pharmacies Christmas Pageant, SA Water is set to ensure a welcoming and safe environment for people of all abilities.
Working with Events SA to identify new ways of improving access and reducing barriers faced by members of the community, SA Water is improving wheelchair and pram access, quiet rooms for children and attendees with sensory sensitivities, disability access, assistance/service dogs, and access champions.
With the Adelaide Oval being well recognised as an accessible venue there are a variety of initiatives already in place which will be built upon through the SA Water event partnership.
These include things like accessible and pram parking, an access drop off area, courtesy carts to assist with getting attendees around at the event, accessible height counters and clear signage, multiple dedicated accessible and community viewing platforms/areas and infrared neck loop receivers for hearing assistance (available on request).
If you’re heading to the pageant this year and you’re in need of inclusive and accessible options, SA Water, Adelaide Oval, Events SA and National Pharmacies Christmas Pageant have got you covered.
