What happens when a nice, Jewish 50-year-old lecturer leaves her husband and discovers sexy and energetic younger men? Well, you can find out at comedian Marilyn Leder’s Adelaide Fringe show!

The Milf Next Door will come a-knockin’ at Nineteen Ten and Hades Hula House, opening on February 19 for five shows only.

Described by legendary comedian Tim Ferguson as “Pure comic genius” Marilyn tells her own story while smashing stereotypes and double standards.

“The show explores dating for a 50-something Jewish mamma through stand-up comedy and song,” she says. “After being married for 20 years, I was excited to get out and start dating, but I found guys my age were not much fun and I didn’t want to go from one bad relationship to another. I decided to set my online demographics a little younger – okay a lot younger – and so the fun begins.

“My show is raunchy, funny, and empowering. It breaks through double standards and expectations of women and unashamedly shows how much fun a woman can have after escaping marriage. The show aims to inspire and empower people to find their joy. The songs are hilarious too!”

Heading over to Adelaide Fringe from Victoria for the first time, Marilyn is an international touring comedian who has shared the stage with big names, but she’s looking forward to being part of our silly season this month.

“I perform stand-up comedy widely and sing blues in Melbourne,” she says. “I have previously shared the stage with Chris Rock in L.A. I’ve toured Australasia in Buddy: The Buddy Holly Story musical and have worked in script development for ABC Comedy and interned at NBC Television in the heyday of Seinfeld, Frasier and Friends. It’s my first time at Adelaide Fringe. The Festival is legendary and I’m looking forward to checking out as many fab shows as I can squeeze in.”

Promising a raunchy, raucous and hilarious night out for adults only, Marilyn reckons The Milf Next Door is one to bring the gals and the guys to!

“Clearly, women from 30 to 60 love my show. It’s a great gals night out! I’ve also been rapt to see the younger and older guys enjoy my show,” she says. “If I can make the young guys blush, then I’m doing my job and the older guys say it’s very educational. Also, the young gals in their 20’s love seeing mum unashamedly let loose”
