Although he highlights at the start of his performance the potential dullness of riding solo in general, Hansen presents as entirely comfortable on stage alone and upholds the bold presence of earlier Chaser material.

It’s not every day we get the opportunity to see an entirely authentic African circus jam-packed with such a talented cast. As the host of Cirque Africa says himself, without the support of the audience – Fringe goes may have to endure yet another all Australian circus / physical theatre act in the years to come!
The thing that really stood out about Shit-faced Shakespeare: Hamlet was actually its delivery of the story (Hamlet) and its actors. Despite the premise of the show being comedic and if not somewhat commedia dell’arte. The portrayal of the story was actually delivered quite well amongst all of the alcohol-induced ridiculousness and buffoonery!
Rouge is a sexy, operatic (and acrobatic) cabaret that is filled with affection. The performances (and the performers) are big, bold and demanding of your attention and I believe it’s entirely warranted. Special mention to Opera Singer Isabel Hertaeg for her otherworldly performance!
